Top Kitchen Trends of 2014

For many families today updating their kitchen is more a dream than a reality. Revamping or completely starting over on a kitchen can be costly, but in turn can increase the value of the home and help to make life less stressful. Believe it or not many people do not have a correctly functioning kitchen. Many drawers open into cabinets doors and sinks are too close or to far away from the refrigerator and etc. By having a designer help design the kitchen, it can make a world of difference. Designers like myself take Kitchen Bath and Lighting courses which give us an advantage over contractors because we understand function, and design!

Below are pictures that show just some of the trending materials and colors being used today in kitchen designs.
White cabinetry is coming back with a bang as well as subway tiles as back splash.

Two toned cabinetry is being seen more and more frequently. Normally the islands are a different color or wood than the cabinetry. Commercial grade appliances are also becoming a needed accessory for many people for the kitchen as well!

Open Storage concept for dishware is a love hate relationship for me. You will have dust all over your dishes but can display them. I'd personally rather go with putting them in a cabinet with glass doors or something.

Thankfully today people are more bold with style and are not afraid to paint their cabinetry, as well as use colorful tile! I love the accent tile wall. We are seeing tile be brought into the spot light of kitchen design as not just back splash.

It's cool to be organized! Why not add in all of those helpful features when remolding? No one said you had to have a meat and bones kitchen.

Kitchens are the life of the home and a major focal point.  Bringing more luxurious materials like granite and marble into a space can bring an elegant look desired for the room, and over all home.
Colors:

Kitchen colors are leaning more towards the blue and green colored families!

Not everyone is a fan of beige or tan colors but it is trending and more people feel "safe" using this color in their home.

You are not required to use color just on the walls. Color can be so much more fun being brought out through back splash tiles and painted cabinetry.

Grey colored walls and white molding are very hott! This look is clean and can give a timeless feeling.

The sea foam color is great with this electric design. Kitchen's can be whatever you want them to be like urban/country/coastal design! What's great with working with a designer is getting that customized look you want.
