Modestly Modern

Architect Timothy Haynes and designer partner Kevin Roberts build a sleek and modern home along the beach in the Southampton's. Their clients were a well off Wall Street couple looking to build a home that they would be able to pass down to their children. The designer duo took the challenge quickly because they knew that there was not much property left to build on in the particular pristine area. The results of the home turned out better than expected. The beautiful modern and organic looking home seems to blend in beautifully with the surroundings both inside and out. The designer team is also well known for making dreams happen for their high end clients. This home with it's beautiful ocean front was unique and what drew them into the design. The clients family played a huge role in the design of the home as well as the custom furnishings throughout the space. The clients also wanted the home to look formal in the front but wanted the back side of the house to be more casual and beachy.

Most of the furniture in this seating area is vintage from 1950-60's. The staircase is custom made with oak, glass, and steel. The custom rug was made by  Haynes-Roberts.

The living room featured some 1940-60's pieces but also housed some custom made furniture as well. A Donald Moffett piece hangs above the fireplace.

The exterior features cedar shingles and blue stone steps as well as Boxwood shrubs and a 1991 sculpture by Sol LeWitt.

The family room features large windows, Stark rug, and a linen-wool sofa.

Designer outdoor furniture lounges in the sun room.

The hall features 1940's and 1960's pieces again with the furniture and light fixtures.

The master bedroom features Stark carpeting and near floor to ceiling windows. The stools are Mid-Century American.

The game space is all done in white oak and features 1950's teak armchairs.

The kitchen features custom made sinks, and island as well as 1940's light fixtures.

The dining room features 1950's rush and bronze seats with a custom made dining table and lighting fixtures.

The living room features a Damien Hirst painting and a Circa 1950's table.

Teak ottomans are featured outside near their lap pool.
